Albion Corporate Social Responsibility
Apart from doing business, Albion has considered its responsibilities towards society with the highest priority. Skill development and generation of employment through Self Earning Groups (SEGs) is the core objective of the company for its corporate social responsibility projects.
Skill development is one of the most effective tools to improve the contribution of labor to overall production of the country and also invite vast majority of the population to the main stream of development. Fortunately, India accounts for one of the highest “demographic dividend” having younger workforce than those of other emerging and developed economies of the world. In contrast, the country is loosing the opportunity because a large part of the population is deprived of the necessary skills the job market wants.
In view of above, Albion is planning to partner with Industry Chambers and Non Government Organizations (NGOs) to train unemployed and socially deprived youths by offering various courses on Information Technology (IT) and related products. These youths will be provided plenty of opportunities to learn the technology and apply it to service end customers. Considering the huge demand of such products and services in the market, Albion thinks that this initiative will create self employment to target group. The program intends to develop the skills of economically, socially deprived youth, create SEGs and help old age, children and disabled people, who are economically weak.
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
The purpose of this program is to develop skills of youth in the age group of 18- 30 in short term courses, preferably 3 months, that are responsive to the demand of market, time and location. The ultimate aim of the program is to reduce poverty and vulnerability of disadvantaged youth through assimilating them into the competitive job market and to help them acquire the required livelihood and social skills in an environment of learning and mentoring that is responsive to the individual’s intellectual and developmental needs of the target groups.
The training will provide the necessary skills to the attendees to make them self employable. It is highly expected that those people will be able to sell the much needed IT products and services in the market and generate sustainable income for themselves.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The CSR effort of the company on skill development sets the following objectives:
- To provide the professional skills
- To enhance the employability of the youth
- To equip them with such skills that they could demand better wages
- To foster entrepreneurship among the youths
- Help the people in general, who are socially and economically deprived
